Shotcrete Trial

Today we did a trial for Shotcrete, we will be doing shotcrete in launching chamber, in cut and cover areas & in cross passages.

Shotcrete is concrete (or sometimes mortar) conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface, as a construction technique.

Shotcrete is usually an all-inclusive term that can be used for both wet-mix and dry-mix versions.

Shotcrete undergoes placement and compaction at the same time due to the force with which it is projected from the nozzle. It can be impacted by any type or shape of the surface, including vertical or overhead areas.

Grouting Plant for Soil Anchor

Soil Anchor grouting plant arrived today at the site, grout plant consists of mixer, agitator, water measurement tank, storage water tank, water pump, and control panel.

We will be using a cement grout admixture will be added as per requirement.
For the quality control of grout mix, we will do the following tests.

1. Flowability check.
2. Shrinkage and bleeding test.
3. Compressive strength.

The grout will be injected into the tendon through the grout pipe extending up to the bottom of the hole in a continuous manner without any interruption until grout overflows from the top of the borehole. We will do the grouting at 2-5 bar pressure to fill the hole from bottom to top & displacing any water therein.

Kingpost Pile

Driving king post piles these days, well not many to drive still happy to part of this project lots of new things to learn, Preparing for circular king post pile pipe welding.

Kingpost pile is generally used for deep excavation to support strut.
Each circular king post is made up with a mildsteel pipe, installed in drilled-hole up-to-the design founding level or 1.0 M embedded inside the rock then it is grouted with high-strength non-shrink cementations grout throughout its embedded length.

Steps of king-post piles driving will be as followed.

1. The setting out of Drilling Rig.
2. Drilling by Down to Hole (DTH) System
3. Rig shifting & Cleaning of Bore Holes.
4. Grouting.

Soil Anchor Drilling...

Soil anchor drilling work is in highlight these days, soil anchoring is required to secure the retaining wall in position against the lateral pressure of earth during excavation and construction period and to prevent displacement of the retaining wall causing damage to buildings and utility at the side of the cut.

The sequence of the work till locking is as follows.

Drilling of boreholes for installation of the anchor.Fabrication of removable anchor at the site.
Installation of fabricated anchor tendon.
Grouting of removable tendons.
Fixing of anchor bracket, water, and bearing plate.
Installation of anchor head and jack.
Stressing the anchor & locking the anchor at specified workload.
